abstract forms
As with much of my figurative work recurrent themes consider contradictory aspects of the human condition, such as resilience and fragility, power and vulnerability, and the capacity for both rupture and repair, with cracks and imperfections celebrated rather than hidden.
Led by process rather than any particular idea in mind, these forms come into being through a dialogue with the myself, the material, the making experience, and the situation. Forms may emerge as single pieces or as part of a series and are sometimes assembled with other materials. While individual pieces have their own individual identity, they also form part of a broader collective and narrative that is constantly changing and reconfiguring itself.
